Email Address

Usage Data (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymized usage data about how visitors interact with our website. This includes information such as page views, feature usage patterns, approximate geographic location (country or city level), device type, browser type, and referral sources. This data is aggregated and anonymized—it does not personally identify you.

Payment Information

If you subscribe to our Pro plan, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store, process, or have access to your full credit card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details. Stripe may share limited information with us, such as the last four digits of your card, card brand, expiration date, and billing address, solely for the purposes of managing your subscription and providing receipts.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Service delivery and video exports— To provide the core functionality of VDR Studio, including rendering and delivering your bar chart race video exports.
  • Email marketing via MailerLite— If you provide your email address, we may send you product updates, tips, and promotional content through MailerLite. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
  • Analytics to improve the service— We analyze aggregated, anonymized usage data from Google Analytics 4 to understand how our features are used, identify bugs, and prioritize improvements.
  • Subscription management via Stripe— We use Stripe to process payments, manage billing cycles, handle upgrades and cancellations, and issue refunds for Pro subscriptions.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate VDR Studio. Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data:

  • Google Analytics 4 cookies— GA4 sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish unique visitors and track session information. These cookies contain randomly generated identifiers and do not store personal information.
  • localStorage for user preferences— We use your browser’s localStorage to save preferences such as your selected theme, Pro subscription status, and editor settings. This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
  • Cookie consent banner— On your first visit, we display a cookie consent banner. Analytics cookies are only activated after you provide consent. Your consent preference is stored in localStorage so the banner is not shown again on subsequent visits.

6. Data Retention

  • Email addresses— Your email address is stored for as long as you remain subscribed to our mailing list or maintain an active Pro subscription. Once you unsubscribe or cancel your subscription, your email is removed from our active mailing lists within 30 days.
  • Analytics data— Usage data collected through Google Analytics 4 is retained according to Google’s data retention policies. We have configured our GA4 property to retain user-level data for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
  • Payment data— Payment and transaction data is retained by Stripe in accordance with their data retention policies and applicable financial regulations. We do not independently store payment card details.

7. Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access— You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
